How Guppy handles your training data
Your iPhone saves workouts for offline use. When you're signed in, Guppy syncs them with your account so you can use them on the web.

Short version
- Workout and progress records
- Your iPhone keeps its own workout records and videos. When you're signed in, Guppy syncs with your account automatically and when you tap Sync now. With Guppy Pro, sync backs up this iPhone's changes; without Pro, it only downloads what your account already has.
- In-app analytics is opt-in
- The direct PostHog SDK only starts after you enable the Analytics toggle in Settings, though RevenueCat may still send subscription lifecycle events server-side.
- Attribution is permission-based
- AppsFlyer receives its installation identifier and a signed-in app user ID when available. If you allow Apple's tracking prompt, it may also use advertising device identifiers across apps and websites.
- Earlier account records
- Accounts may retain onboarding or community records from earlier versions. Account deletion includes those records when present.
- Feedback is optional
- Send Feedback opens guppy.userjot.com. UserJot handles information you submit there under its privacy policy.
- Accounts stay scoped
- An account is required to use Guppy. Clerk is used for sign-in and profile management, while RevenueCat receives an account-linked app user ID plus email or display name when purchases are tied to that account.
- Delete from the app
- Settings lets you delete your account, local workout data, imports, and linked processor data without contacting support.
What stays on your device
- On iPhone, workouts, set logs, progress, and video files are saved in the app's local storage so you can train offline. Guppy does not mirror workouts through iCloud.
- When you attach a clip from Photos or Files, Guppy keeps a local copy and thumbnail. Copying attachments to your account requires Guppy Pro.
- App preferences, including your Analytics choice, are managed locally on your device.
What can leave your device when you use optional services
- While you're signed in, Guppy syncs with your account when the app opens or returns to the foreground (at most every 5 minutes), when it moves to the background, after you finish a workout, and when you tap Settings > Sync now. Each sync downloads account changes to the iPhone. With Guppy Pro, it also sends local workout changes and eligible video files to your account. Workout records are stored in Convex; private video files are stored in the guppy-private-videos Cloudflare R2 bucket. The web app reads and saves workout changes in that same account.
- Clerk receives account identifiers plus profile details such as your name, avatar, and verified email address when you sign in or manage your account.
- RevenueCat receives product identifiers, receipts, entitlement state, an app user ID, and linked subscriber attributes such as email or display name when purchases are tied to an account.
- If you opt into Analytics, PostHog receives device identifiers, product interaction data, performance data, and a first-party app user identifier directly from the app. RevenueCat may also send subscription lifecycle events and attached subscriber attributes to PostHog through its server-side integration. Session replay is disabled.
- AppsFlyer receives install, session, campaign attribution data, its installation identifier, and a signed-in app user ID when available. Convex stores the AppsFlyer installation identifier while you are signed in so account deletion can reach the matching attribution data. If you allow Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, AppsFlyer may also use advertising device identifiers for attribution across apps and websites.
- If records from an earlier version remain in your account, Convex may store onboarding answers and state, or community usernames and content you previously chose to share. Account deletion covers these records when present.
- If you import a workout from a supported public TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube link, Convex, Apify, and Replicate process the source link, temporary downloaded video, available captions, creator and platform attribution, and generated workout draft. When you save a web import with eligible video segments, Guppy also copies one validated original into private account storage for playback. Temporary provider files are deleted after processing and the bounded recovery period.
- If you select a video from Photos or Files for import or exercise logging, Guppy copies it to a temporary app file, uploads it to Convex storage, and sends it to Replicate for analysis. A saved exercise log may also contain a separate local copy. Attaching a clip to a workout does not send it for analysis; with Guppy Pro, account sync may upload it to private account storage.
- Earlier body-scan records, if present, were processed by Convex and OpenAI using the submitted image and training context.
- If you choose Send Feedback in Settings, Guppy opens the UserJot feedback sheet. UserJot handles what you submit and may collect website details such as your IP address, browser, operating system, and pages visited under its privacy policy. Guppy does not attach your account or workout details.
- If you email support, we receive the message and any attachments you send.
How we use your information
Guppy is operated by FollowUs AI LLC ("we"). Guppy saves training data on your iPhone and in your signed-in web account. Account sync downloads your account to the iPhone and, with Guppy Pro, sends the iPhone's changes to your account. Clerk handles sign-in; RevenueCat manages purchases and entitlements; Stripe processes web payments when web checkout is available; PostHog receives app analytics only when enabled in Settings and may receive subscription events from RevenueCat; AppsFlyer measures attribution; Convex manages account records and video-processing jobs. Earlier body-scan requests, if present, were processed by Convex and OpenAI. Settings opens UserJot for optional feedback in an in-app sheet.
Your choices
- Turn Analytics on or off anytime in Settings.
- Allow or deny Apple's tracking permission for attribution in iOS Settings.
- Dismiss feedback prompts or choose not to submit feedback.
- Reset local history and progress from Settings, or delete the app to remove local data.
- Delete an imported workout or progression from its details screen. Guppy requests deletion of the linked import data.
- Permanently delete your account from Settings > Account. Guppy removes the current account's local training data and media, starts deletion of account-linked Convex records and private Cloudflare R2 videos, and sends deletion requests to RevenueCat, PostHog, and AppsFlyer. Provider deletion may take additional time. Apple subscriptions continue until you cancel them through your Apple ID. If you used Sign in with Apple, remove Guppy afterward from iPhone Settings > your name > Sign in with Apple, or at account.apple.com.
Data retention and security
Local data is protected by your device security features. Account, purchase, analytics, attribution, import, and support data is sent over secure connections and retained as needed to operate the service, restore account state, reconcile usage, resolve support issues, or meet legal obligations. Saved private videos remain while the related workout or accessible history needs them; temporary provider files are removed after processing and a bounded recovery period. Guppy keeps the source link, attribution, structured workout result, monthly usage record, and limited diagnostics until you delete the import or your account. Account deletion starts immediately but provider deletion can take additional time. After completion, Guppy keeps only a one-way account hash and deletion timestamps to prevent a deleted cloud identity from silently returning. Feedback sent through UserJot is outside Guppy account deletion. Manage or request deletion of information submitted there through UserJot. Guppy does not show third-party ads in the app.
Kids and eligibility
Guppy is built for people physically capable of performing bodyweight exercise. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents should supervise any child using a fitness app.
